found in the grass, on a cold day

something like a stone, something like a piece of candy.
blue like the Mediterranean was, heavy like a silver dollar.
seem impregnable, yet so cold and exposed.
how do you know if something is (still) alive?

it incubates under a lamp in my bathroom.
